The Gallery @ MOS - 28th Nov with Sander Van Doorn - 2008/11/26 14:56

Fresh from gatecrashing No.13 in DJ Mag’s new Top 100 Poll, we caught up with Gallery resident Sander van Doorn ahead of his final set of the year for us in London at Ministry of Sound this Friday to find out what’s on his Xmas list...
Morning Sander, how does The Gallery find you on this fine day?
I’m good, just about to go to the studio.
You’re back at The Gallery at Ministry of Sound this coming Friday, what can we expect from your goodself, any new juicy bits of production to listen out for or anything else?
I’ve been really busy with producing over the last couple of weeks so I’ve got a lot of new stuff ready to be roadtested, which also includes a new collaboration with Marco V we’ve just finished.
Now the year is starting to draw to a close what have been your highlights looking back on the last 12 months?
There were a lot of highlights this year actually: the ‘Supernaturalistic’ album, winning an award in Miami at the IDMA and at the Ibiza Awards, a phenomenal summer season and of course climbing up the ladder in this year’s DJ Mag Top 100.
Who has impressed you this year in terms of productions and djing on your travels?
On the production tip, I was really impressed this year with artists like Bart B More, Arnej and Simon Patterson. However I didn’t get much opportunity to check out a lot of sets time-wise, I did enjoy sets from Sebastian Ingrosso, Marcus Schossow and of course Eddie Halliwell was a big treat to listen to.
What’s your top 3 tunes of the moment?
1, Koen Groeneveld - Go Around (Koen's Brace For Impact Mix)
2, Jon Rundell - Dawn Raid (Sander van Doorn Remix)
3, Marco V - A Journey Into Sound
And finally what’s top of your Xmas present list this year?
A brand new espresso machine!
Favourite Christmas carol?
Ring my Christmas bells.
And where are you spending Xmas day this year?
This year I’m planning on staying home for Christmas to spend it with my family and girlfriend for a change.
