This Saturday at Sankeys - Chris Lake and Dirty Vegas - 2010/01/29 13:41 This Saturday at Sankeys - Chris Lake and Dirty Vegas

With January shaping up to be a hot month in Manchester – not the weather, of course, but at rave den Sankeys – Saturday 30th sees the return of three of the club’s most revered guests. Maintaining and adhering to such a strong and forward-thinking music manifesto is the result of consistently staying one step ahead of the game, and for Sankeys this is all part of the club’s continued evolution. With the lineups dropping thick and fast, February and March are already looking like two of the best months to blow away any lingering cobwebs.
But let’s check out this last Saturday of Jan first…
Globally recognised as one of the most exciting, forward thinking and cutting edge producers on the scene, Chris Lake’s rare ability to create tracks that fuse elements of house, electro and techno has not been lost on his fellow peers. His innovative productions continue to receive wave after wave of support from such luminaries that include Sasha, Danny Howells, Justin Robertson, Sander Kleinenberg and Carl Cox, whilst Pete Tong leads the way in championing the unique sound that has established Chris as one of the world’s elite.
Dirty Vegas, a Grammy Award-winning British house music trio made up of Ben Harris and Paul Harris (no relation) on instruments and production and Steve Smith on vocals, that was formed in 2001. The group broke up in 2005, but reformed in December 2008 to record new material, and during 2009 have been back in the finest of form. The group is best known for their international hit single "Days Go By", which gained mainstream popularity in a 2003 Mitsubishi Eclipse television commercial and continue to play select gigs around the world, and are always very much welcome at Sankeys.
Dekker has been one of the London club circuit’s best kept secrets for almost a decade, playing regular sets at Fabric since it opened, and most of the rest at some point, honing his style originally on hip hop, bashment and (proper) electro. His style has evolved to combine the quick–cutting of his hip hop roots with straight up dance music. His sets are made up of impatient mixes, b-lines, the freshest electronic beats, elements of disco, acid & techno, his own productions and exclusive edits and the odd classic, depending on the floor.
Another fine serving of aural delight brought to you by Sankeys. The end of the month is looking rather good indeed.
