Dj Sammy in the US top ten, WTF? - 2006/07/04 09:49 Just wanted some comments on the "new" "Dj Sammy fet Yanou & Do". AFAIK it`s the first time that a European dance song got higher in the US charts than in the European charts. Is mainstream trance now getting popular in the US or what? Just curious... Till

Re:Dj Sammy in the US top ten, WTF? - 2006/07/04 18:53 endlessly subjected to tracks such as "Blue daba dee" and "Better off Alone" for longer than I care to remember. It`s a real shame that the DJ Sammy track wasnt better produced, it actually was a clever idea to redo that Bryan Adams song but unfortunately he has the production sense of a retard. Sorry if any of you are fans of his or the song, this is just my opinion
Once in a very small while they`ll have a house song that`s actually good come out and get mainstream airplay (Music Sounds Better with U-Stardust, Children- Robert Miles) but for the most part, the only dance music they play is really bad.
*sigh* thank goodness for CD players Erika RollerGirl

Re:Dj Sammy in the US top ten, WTF? - 2006/07/05 01:27 I agree that Heaven is not one of Dj sammy`s best tracks. THe stuff he does on his own is much better. I really do like sunlight (especially some of the rmxes on the vinyl) , even though it got played far to often during love parade time. And of course it is a bit cheesy. I guess i didn`t look into US charts enough yet to find "Blue" or "Better of alone"... or i just disliked those two songs enough to switch channels whenever they were on. Same goes for the Yanou stuff... the first song was good, but i guess that was mainly do to Beam and Cyrus. All the other Yanou stuff sounds pretty simple. Till
Ps. Since you mentioned Robert miles. Did you ever listen into his new album "Organik". That is some unussual stuff... not what i would have expected, but really neat and Jazzy.

Re:Dj Sammy in the US top ten, WTF? - 2006/07/05 05:31 electronic music. However, I think that they really just open the door for the next sappy, stab-heavy club track. That said, I much prefer "Sandstorm" to "Hot in Herre" [sic]. So maybe we *are* making some progress.
