New Decks? - 2006/07/26 15:26 I am in the market to purchase myself some new turntables and can't decide which ones to get. I have narrowed down my choices to the ones below.

citronic pd45s (new)
1210s (used)
numark tt500s (new)
vestax pdx2000s (used)

what are the pros and cons of these, especialy the citronics and numarks? Any advice would be great!

Re:New Decks? - 2006/07/26 15:29 My advice to you is to stick to the techs. They may not be the best out there but they are certainly the most reliable. I think most people would agree with me completely.

Re:New Decks? - 2006/07/26 15:32 How long do you think that the 1210s would last for? I am looking for an estiamte to see if I will get my moneys worth.

Re:New Decks? - 2006/07/26 15:35 Its hard to say how long they will last for. I mean how long do cars last? It depends on how well they have been looked after and if they have been serviced properly and regularly. Out of the ones you are looking into I would say go with the techs or the vestax.

hun last year i purchased a set of 1210s from a club .. they are over 10 years old already and still doing me proud .. they just need a service on the motor (due to people smoking and drinking over them for 10 years they just have to be cleaned etc)

and im more than sure in another 10 years ill still have them

buy new and you will have them for a life time .. even if you turn to cds like i have they are still very useful

They awesome.... service them, and they
will keep you happy for years!!!

I have swoped my 1210's 4 the new Stanton STR8-150's!!!
EVEN BETTER - BEST EVER!!! In my books, better then the 1210's

TOTALLY IN LOVE WITH THE STANTONS!!!

Re:New Decks? - 2006/11/17 07:15 The 1210 did not become the industry standard because of marketing. They're a rock solid platform, stable predictable and travel very well. trust me... the 1210 is an investment you'll never regret

Re:New Decks? - 2007/02/23 19:12 I would say stick w/ the tried and tru 1200's I have 6 of them myself. They last forever as long as you take care of them and even if you don't they are the easiest to fix and maintain.
