Can ne1 ID this deep, dark, prog-tech house trak!? - 2009/12/26 09:52 Okay, so I have done it all to find the artist and title of this track. I've asked my local dj buddies, searched the web, bribed world famous dj's, gone to websites specifically designed to help people ID dance music tracks with nothing but the lyrics and still, nothing. I'm desperate. Really, I am. I guess this is my last attempt at ever finding this track. May whoever identifies it be blessed with many nights of dancing their butts off to their favorite beats.
As if this wasn't already an extremely underground track that I seriously doubt anyone has heard more than once in their life (IF they've ever even heard it at all) unfortunatly, I don't even have a sample clip of the track. So it's really gonna be hard to identify this baby. You see, I discovered this track on an unmarked cd of a mix that I found about 2 years ago in the back of my friends car. The track was the very last song played in this mix. Anyway, my friend claimed she had absolutely no idea who the cd belonged to or who the artist was. Needless to say, the cd became mine and I lost it less than a week later and before I had the chance to rip it to my computer or burn an extra copy of it. Now all I'm left with is the memory of the lyrics. Yes, that's right. I only have the lyrics of the track for you to work with. So if you can identify this track, you are the ultimate house music guru of all time!!!
Now, this track would be identified as probably Progressive House. Although, it can also be considered tech-house or tribal as well. It's very dark, deep, techy, and "drugged out", like something you'd hear at about 4 or 5 am in some seedy afterhours club full of tweakers. It's very much in the style of Steve Lawler, Deep Dish, Satoshi Tomiie, Scanners, Randall Jones, Danny Tenaglia, John Creamer, Stephane K, Radioslave, Danny Howells, etc. The lyrics in the track are sung by a female in that "house music diva style", if that makes any sense. And here they are...

"be a cheat,
be a liar.
you've met defeat,
when you get tired.
you stay up all night,
with your weakness.
you think you're brave and you're tough?
you are speechless.
you wanna be bad,
but that's ok.
never giving,
always take.
your mask is slipping,
you're a fake.
you look at yourself,
not a pretty picture.
you wanna change,
it's not too late.
trade it in and wipe the slate.
not afraid of demons....
inside your head!"

OMG. I really do love this freakin' track and am dying to add it to my record collection so I myself can add it to a mix. Typing those lyrics just sent a chill through my body which is exactly what I'd feel when I heard the actual track, followed by involuntary dancing to the beat. The lyrics are deep and subliminal which I like. However, it's not even so much as the lyrics that let me have it with this track. It's definetly the beat which unfortunatly no one can hear unless some genius out there can crack the code and identify this track. Will it be you??? Good luck peeps.
