Rustem Rustem “AHNIYA”
Digital Disco Records are proud to present Rustem Rustem. Rustem is the latest UK rising talent, already making waves with his popular London events, Sexy Trash Sessions. His first release with us brings underground tech beats, hypnotic percussive sounds blended with an African theme.
Rustem Rustem - Exposed to music from an early age, Tainted resident Rustem Rustem was DJing at 13, got his first job in a music shop at 17 and by 20 held his first weekly DJ residency.
Firmly established as a DJ, promoter and producer, he has a strong and diverse music background releasing tracks from Breakbeat to Electro House and forming record labels ‘Loonacy’ and ‘Spud Records’ by the time he was 21. He has also worked under the guises of T-Delight and DJ Sexy Trash, and his remixes and releases under those names have been a part of London’s clubbing culture for years.
Working for a 12” record distribution company in 2003, he soon became Head of A&R, and by 2006 was Label Manager for the Hoxton Whores. It was whilst managing the Whores’ label that he launched ‘Sexy Trash Digital’, a breakthrough label established to provide opportunities for up-and-coming artists and producers whilst advocating his distinctive sound. Mikey Hook, Kid Dub/ and James Edwards have all benefited from Sexy Trash Digital’s commitment to up-and-coming talent, and all those producers have proved their own worth to the house music scene in their own right.
When he’s not driving the Sexy Trash concept, Rustem Rustem continues to work with established names such as Leisuregroove and Kevin Andrews, as he’s is keen to continuously challenge himself musically. He has had his tracks signed to World Sound, Digital Disco as well as Roger Sanchez’s Release Yourself Compilation Album, demonstrating that his musical abilities are appreciated by many of the worlds most cutting edge producers.
