________

ABOUT THE RELEASE:

There's a saying..."Third time's a charm." In the context of Rock It Science Laboratories' third E.P. this most certainly rings true. The first two releases by RISL have been stellar and this E.P. levels this fresh new label up another notch. Thunder Cats have already been on the prowl, appearing as the first track on Tommie Sunshine's spring promo mix and an XLR8R podcast from White Girl Lust.

Eric Sharp & Bass Cadet go to the outer reaches of audio space exploration and zoom back into orbit delivering a monster of a club whomper with Thunder Cats. Almost immediately upon listening, the sound of looming thunder bass rolls in from the distant skies soundscape. The intro lets the club freaks in on the hint that their dancing shoes are about to get worked and their eardrums boosted. Shooting sounds like stars racing across the night sky dive in and then the release of the growls of gyrating bass come in for the kill. Thunder Cats is one of those luscious tracks that defies genres, garnering support from a wide range of artists.

DJ Fame, Dubsided Records and Potty Mouth Music pioneer as well as Rock It Science label mate, gives Thunder Cats the big room, big city feel with this deep tech space growler. Just when we think we know what to expect from Fame The breakdown takes you to the cosmos and back, delivering an epic and original biting sound like only Fame can drop reminiscent of some of the best releases on labels like Freerange and Loungin. The filtering throughout this audio journey is key and is what sets this remix apart. Truly thunderous!

Sick Boy, hailing from Amsterdam and tearing up the charts lately with work out on labels like Dim Mak and Discobelle, brings the polished heat on this incredibly tasteful stormer of a remix. The sound of foreign, forest freshness is alive and well as the drums are literally dancing in the background. Sick Boy also does an amazing job panning the wildly edited bass cuts. The deep and soft kicks and claps mixed with the intensity of the other feverish sounds are reminicient of a wildcat pouncing its prey without warning. This is for a sure a dance floor peak time crusher.

Comin' with the SF house stylings is Homero Espinosa, founder of the YBD label group & studios. Homero is an incredible producer and adds his imprint of sexy sounds to this powerful remix package. The Thunder Cats title begs to be changed to Thunder Sax as Homero brings in a tripped out delayed sax compliments of Chris Klein, which gives this remix a unique element. Homero's high hats are sharp and crispy which is an instinctual trademark of his audio prowess. This remix is driving and yet still laid back with spaced out elements of echoing tripiness as if the listener were a lost astronaut floating about in deep space.

The Thunder Cats title shines through the most with the Spystep remix that roams wild through the ears and attacks like a hungry predator. Best known for their work on Mal Label Music, Spystep brings rumbling, animalistic bass that grinds and breathes it's vibration up and down the spine. The hairs on ones back stand up straight in pure ecstacy as this slowed down incredible jam pulls from all the best sounds of the original's nastiness for a true dubstep destroyer. Spooky synths bring the listener into a world of unknowing aggressive surprises. Fierce.
