*MIXMAG LOVES LEEDS//THIS THURSDAY//TIEFSCHWARZ* - 2009/04/06 20:27
MIXMAG ♥'s LEEDS Easter Thursday 9th April @ MyHouse, Leeds 10pm - 5am After taking the dance scene by storm for 25 years, Mixmag has more than earned its stripes as the Number One dance mag in the UK. And to celebrate this incredible achievement and continued domination of the industry, their first party tour in over 8 years is currently taking the country by storm. And on Thursday 9th April, they will be joining forces with two of the cities biggest brands, Filth and Ketoloco and throwing a no holds barred shindig in one of Leeds biggest and best venues. My House. Having also enlisted the unquestionably cool talents of Berlin based DJ duo, Tiefschwarz, you can expect a night filled with quality German tech, the finest house around, and no doubt a more than decent sized portion of debauchery… Already having held parties around the UK that have hosted the likes of Justice, Annie Mac and even Friendly Fires, Mixmag are getting involved in Leeds’ thriving underground scene with a darker, deeper house flavour sure to thrill the cities musically educated, techno hungry clubbers. Tiefschwarz are two brothers hailing from Stuttgart, who took the turn into production after years spent DJing and putting on parties in and around Germany. After their early releases were picked up by deep house heavyweight, Derrick Carter, and released on his Classic Recordings label, their career took a steep upturn. After regularly appearing at Europe’s coolest, most obscure venues and festivals, and faultlessly delivering mind twisting, crowd bending tracks, they have carved out a unique and instantly recognisable sound, always associated with the coolest, most underground branch of the house world. Synonymous with ‘stay on your feet til the lights go up’ sets, heart stopping bass lines and spine tingling mixes, Tiefschwarz will no doubt bring Leeds to its knees on one of the most unmissable nights of 2009 so far. Support on the night comes in the form of purveyors of dirty, jackin’ house and full-scale f**ked up party madness, Filth. Residents Eddi Zanetti, Dale Castell and main man Danny Savage are on hand to serve up the most disgusting house around, impossible to stand still too, and ready to bend minds from the bar to the terrace, this is one room sure to make sure you misplace your marbles… Needing no introduction are the Ketoloco boys. Epitomising the vibe in the city over the last few years, this group of talented chancers took their wonky events worldwide after their infamous years spent in the basement of their student house. Always filled with the biggest tunes and naughtiest antics, their parties are as notorious for the crazy goings on as the faultless sets and super star guest DJs they churn out with ease. They’ve even got a Silent Disco hosted by Rainbow Rob chucking some funk into the mix on the amazing new heated outdoor terrace, which in the process will be raising (hopefully lot’s) of money for the Stroke Association. With more DJs getting involved from Leeds’ Dirty Disco, Kissdafunk and Panorama nights, as well as support from the Down’n’Dirty DJs, plus many many more, all signs point to a legendary night for the UKs underground partying capital, Leeds. www.mixmag.net GET TICKETS EARLY TO AVOID DISAPPOINTMENT: WWW.SKIDDLE.COM Main room: Ketoloco v Panorama STARRING: TIEFSCHWARZ (LIVE) Chris Halliday (Ketoloco) Eddie Osborne (Ketoloco) Lee Walls (Panorama) Nigel Moss (Panorama) Fraser Todd (Panorama) BlackBox: Filth v Down n Dirty Jackinori (Venga/Bombsquad) Aspin & Dipace (CR2) Eddi Zanetti & Gav Bailey (Filth) Danny Savage (Filth) B-BOY & Hudson (Down n Dirty) Challis & Gashy (Down n Dirty) Bedroom: Freakshow Luke Pompey (Kissdafunk/4Clubbers.net) Matt Cooper (Dirty Disco/Mixmag Future Hero) Jamie Fisher (Control Freq Records) Fisha (Ketoloco) James Dutton & Sean Dougherty (Una+Mas) Push:on DJ’s Terrace: 2CBEATS Silent Disco 80’s/90’s funk & disco with Rainbow Rob & Friends TICKETS Tickets £12, More on the door Tickets: www.skiddle.com – www.ticketline.co.uk Outlets: Crash Records, Jumbo Records (Leeds) The Fancy Dress Experience (Headingley) Ticketline: 0871 4244444 – Info: 07760 205206 AFTERPARTY @ WIRE 5am – 9am Wire - Call Lane, Leeds
