Soon to be of Kerbkrawler, Leeds, and BoHo, Ibiza, as well as of Sankeys in Manchester, underground crew Bitch push on this month with Micky Slim and his record label Bomb Squad bringing the noise. Because they’re in their hometown, the young and wised-up crowd - at the heart of any Bitch carry on - will woop in all the right places, and bounce when the time is right, giving the perfect platform for tonight’s acts to tear the place apart.
Sankeys, Godskitchen, Global festivals in more than one country, MOS and Judgement Sundays; now they’re decent floors to have spun to, but what’s more important is that MICKY SLIM plays the tunes he would like to hear as a dancefloor user, so you know playing those haunts ensures his musical palette is as advanced as Tony Hart’s painting palette. From serene tech house to boomty beats through jack and funk – the man works each nook of electronica and has learnt his trade alongside the best...Zabiela, Morillo, Deep Dish.
Dutchman Don Diablo plays in all reaches of the globe, has charted 8 top 100 tunes in Holland, has released over 75 singles starting at the age of 15, has remixed such diverse artists as Public Enemy, Audio Bullys and Kraak & Smaak, and always plays live with 4 decks. He’s a global superstar signed to Sony and has a wealth of experience to draw on for his set tonight.
Michel Cleis is a rising star with well backed productions on Cocoon and Buzzin Fly which regularly get used by the likes of Villalobos, Ben Watt, Sebo K and Radio Slave to build an underground groove. His sound is typical of Cadenza with its carnival percussion and feverish drums and so it no wonder Luciano signed him up to the label. Jonny Jakes and Dillon round things off.
So shoot down to Radium Street and bath in the almost palpable acid house hedonism which oozes from Sankeys: rave is in the air, and is not to be missed.
