UBER PRESENTS: J.B.O - PETE HELLER & TERRY FARLEY - 2010/02/03 01:30
So, Uber kicks off the 2010 festivities with an extra special night of chaos, courtesy of House legends....
TERRY FARLEY & PETE HELLER
It’s the very first time the legendary duo have come to play in Carlisle, and with 40 years at the cutting the edge of the scene between them, the Uber disciples are in for a treat on February 27th.
Uber has chosen the intimate setting of Spirit club on Crosby Street for the knees-up: be warned, there is only limited space so buy tickets in advance to avoid disappointment. Tickets (£10) can be purchased from www.skiddle.com and local outlets (which local outlets? There can’t be that many, we may as well list them all), or call 01228 514144.
Terry Farley was one of the trail blazers of the London scene in the 1980s; first as a DJ/Producer and then as the architect of the House super brand, Junior Boys Own. The Junior Boys Own record label is one of the greatest House imprints to come out of the UK, boasting the likes of The Chemical Brothers, Underworld and X-Press 2 on its roster, while the Junior Boys Own fanzine (edited by Farley) became a must-have for those in the know, back when it all began.
Pete Heller cut his teeth on the dancefloor of the Hacienda, and before long found his way in to the London scene with a residency at Danny Rampling’s legendary Shoom night. As a producer he achieved commercial success when he teamed up with Farley to make “Ultra Flava” in 1996, and soon after became a household name with his chart smash “Big Love”. Resisting the temptation to sell out, Heller continued to stick to his musical values and has been a highly respected producer and DJ ever since, amassing an enviable discography of remixes and releases that grows by the year.
As if Farley and Heller wasn’t enough, there are a whole host of DJs on the bill giving party-goers music on all three floors, all night long, including Ki Creighton, Jay Wykes, Jamie Henry, Liam Bulloch, Mike Barty and Mike Boorman.
Promoter Matthew Tyson said: “I can’t wait to see these two legends in action. I think they’ll be blown away by the reaction, especially in such an intimate venue.”
